BEC小作文一般是寫便條、備忘錄、email，大作文一般是寫一份報告、書信、提議，要求分析數據，得出結論。因此，根據BEC寫作題型和要求的特點，與其說是背BEC寫作模板，不如說是熟記并活用BEC寫作套路和功能性句型。
以BEC大作文report為例，寫作套路introduction、findings和conclusion的常用句式就要牢記，比如:The purpose of this report is to.../The report aims to...(introduction)；As regards to.../The key findings are summerised bellow...(findings)；I recommend to.../It was concluded that...(conclusion)
